Bio:
I am a painter based in Brooklyn, NY. After earning my BA at Loyola University of Maryland as a Studio Art Major, I began working in fashion designing women’s prints/textiles at Ralph Lauren. This environment was enriching and thrilling watching my work come to fruition. What I loved most was working alongside creatives, immersed in a visual world of story telling. However, this path felt limited. Ultimately, I decided to explore an independent direction. I now paint full time exhibiting in various group and solo shows in galleries, art centers and storefronts. I have worked with various interior designers on painting commissions.
For as long as I can remember, art making is the place where I feel most in touch with myself and surroundings. It is my meditation and prayer. My practice and application of art making has evolved over the years as I strive to create with purpose. Each environment, experience, relationship, or encounter has a role in shifting my attention.
My interest in health, nutrition and energy healing led me to Sourcepoint Therapy. First as a client, then as an aspiring practitioner. I didn’t expect it to entirely shift my relationship to my artwork. After completing trainings in Source Point Therapy at Succurro, my lens as an artist felt renewed and guided. Learning and living immersed in nature, reflection, meditation and community, I felt a new clarity in myself and my work. When returning to painting, the “seeking” for content, planning and expectations dissolved. I began to explore the 8 pt. star (a SP symbol holding the creative energy of the Blueprint of health) as a starting point. The 8 pt star introduced a new level of intention and focus to my practice. Color revealed in a fluid rhythm. The impact held in each color and gesture held my attention. My process became simple, clear, expansive and energizing.
A few years later, I find my work ever-evolving and strengthening, still rooted in the 8pt. star and principles found in Source Point. My creative practice is simply a window for contemplation. Vibrations felt in the mixing and placement of color allow me to reflect, resolve and restore my internal state. In sharing my work, I hope to offer a space to do just that. A space for surrender, rid of projections. An invitation to begin again.
